24-Year-Old Illegal Alien Indicted After Posing as Teen, Enrolling in Ohio High School [WATCH]

A federal grand jury has indicted a 24-year-old illegal immigrant who posed as a teenager to enroll in an Ohio high school, raising concerns about immigration enforcement and system vulnerabilities.

Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, originally from Venezuela, was indicted on four federal charges related to identity fraud and illegal firearm possession, according to the Department of Justice.

Labrador-Sierra, who had been living in Perrysburg, Ohio, claimed to be a 16-year-old unaccompanied minor when he entered the U.S. in September 2019.

Federal authorities allege he used that false identity to obtain Temporary Protected Status and Employment Authorization documents by submitting a fabricated date of birth to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The indictment includes charges of possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm, and making or using false writings or documents.

According to court records, Labrador-Sierra purchased a Taurus G3C 9mm semiautomatic pistol after providing false information to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

If convicted, Labrador-Sierra faces up to 15 years in prison for unlawful firearm possession, 10 years for making a false statement in the gun purchase process, and five years for using falsified documents.

In early 2024, Labrador-Sierra was placed under the guardianship of a local family in Perrysburg, who believed he was a minor. He enrolled in a nearby high school, attended classes, and participated in school sports.

That situation unraveled in May when a woman came forward with documentation revealing Labrador-Sierra’s true age and identity. The woman, who told authorities she was the mother of his child, provided multiple photos and other evidence to the host family.

Perrysburg Township Police arrested Labrador-Sierra in May on charges of forgery. According to a police report, he was in a vehicle with the woman who disclosed his identity when he was taken into custody.

Republican Ohio state Rep. Haraz N. Ghanbari issued a statement following the revelations, calling the situation “a catastrophic breakdown at the federal level.”

“It is becoming increasingly clear that this incident reflects a catastrophic breakdown at the federal level — one stemming from the previous administration’s lackadaisical and negligent approach to immigration enforcement and border security,” Ghanbari stated.

He added that ensuring community safety depends on the integrity of immigration and identification systems.

“I remain committed to working with local, state, and federal officials to ensure accountability and implement reforms that prevent this from ever happening again,” Ghanbari said.

The case remains under federal investigation.
