Yet another charity has fallen victim to Reeves’ tax raid. A 30-year-old charity, Bridges Community Trust, has been forced to shut up shop after “running out of money” – following the bankruptcy of Labour-run Nottingham City Council in 2023, with Reeves’ NICs hikes being the final nail in the coffin. Chair of the trust, Miriam Gifford, called it “an end of an era.” And an end to crucial services for the people of Nottingham…

The charity has provided food banks and helped people find employment since 1996. Gifford pointed the finger at Reeves’ ‘jobs tax,’ saying: “National Insurance has doubled – that’s another cost we can’t manage.
