911 Caller Reported NFL Coach Choking Woman Before His Arrest in Florida

Miami Dolphins outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow has been arrested and placed on indefinite administrative leave following a domestic violence incident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as reported by TMZ.

According to a 911 call obtained by TMZ Sports, a witness reported seeing Crow “choking” a woman outside an apartment complex shortly before midnight on August 28.

“A guy started choking his girl outside,” the caller said. “And then they went back inside upstairs to the floor, and we heard him slam her.” The caller added that no weapons were involved but described the dispute as “physical.”

Police records indicate officers responded at approximately 12:15 a.m. on August 29.

An incident report stated that Crow and the woman were engaged in “a verbal argument about past relationships” that escalated into a physical altercation “when [Crow] intentionally shoved [the woman] out of anger.”

The woman told police she had not sustained injuries and declined to provide a sworn statement.

However, the report noted that “multiple witnesses observed” the altercation, including one who claimed Crow “had his arms around the victim as if he was going to perform a takedown.”

Crow, 38, was arrested and charged with one count of touch or strike/battery/domestic violence. Court records show he entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the matter Monday, confirming that Crow will remain on indefinite administrative leave while the case proceeds. “The allegations, we take extremely serious,” McDaniel said.

“To be on a team, it’s a blessing that you have to have regard for things much bigger than yourself. So, rule No. 1 is to protect the team for reasons such as that, and that one was violated.”

Crow joined the Dolphins in 2024 after six seasons as a coach with the Tennessee Titans. Senior defensive assistant Sean Ryan has been assigned to handle his duties during his absence.

The court proceedings are ongoing.
