Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett on “Grounded” Wednesday laughed raucously and clapped once while joking that President Donald Trump’s hand appeared as though it would imminently “fall off.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters in July that Trump is in good health but has chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) after images of his bruised hand and swollen legs circulated. Crockett said on the podcast that the that there needed to be discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment due to Trump’s physical and mental health.

“I don’t know. Donald Trump hand look like it’s about to fall off. But no, in all seriousness though, I do think that we should have a reasonable conversation about what the 25th means and whether or not he [Trump] is physically capable of serving, as well as I’ve already decided that he is mentally incapable,” Crockett said. “But clearly enough people are not listening to me when I say that he [Trump] doesn’t have the mental capacity.”
There were also online rumors among liberals that Trump was “dead” after he did not do any press conferences for reporters for several days following his marathon cabinet meeting on Aug. 26. Trump dispelled the rumors when he held a White House press conference on Tuesday.
Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz also appeared to wish death upon Trump when he suggested to his supporters on Monday that there will one day be “news” about him passing away.
“You get up in the morning and you doom scroll through things and although I will say this, you woke up the last few days thinking there might be news,” Walz said during a Labor Day picnic. “Just saying, just saying. There will be news sometime, just so you know. There will be news.”
Moreover, former “Meet The Press” moderator Chuck Todd on “The Chuck ToddCast” Monday made bold claims about Trump’s health after previously absolving journalists for not making similar assertions regarding former President Joe Biden.
Todd claimed on a June episode of his podcast that the “most difficult thing to report out on a politician is health,” arguing it was “easy to, frankly, get shamed out of doing it.” However, on his Monday episode, he had no qualms with concluding that Trump has “clearly got some health issues.”
“The lack of transparency on his health — what is going on? Why are both of his hands bruised?” Todd asked. “He’s likely taking some medication that is creating what are potentially visible signs of bruising or the appearance of bruising, which is just a side effect of a drug he may be taking in order to minimize the possibility of a stroke or a heart attack. But there’s clearly some health issues. We’ve seen the ankles. We’ve seen these pictures. Something is afoot.”
