Recruiters say “weak confidence” and “concerns over costs” are driving the slump in hiring as businesses brace for further tax hikes after Reeves’ record £40 billion tax raid last year. Jon Holt of KPMG warned:
“Given the speculation around upcoming Budget measures, it’s unlikely we’ll see a significant shift in recruitment patterns in the near term.”
