Rock Legends Give Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at MTV’s Video Music Awards [WATCH]

Rock icons and longtime friends of Ozzy Osbourne gathered for another tribute concert in honor of the late performer, with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler among those taking the stage.

The event opened with a prerecorded message from Osbourne’s son, Jack, who addressed the crowd alongside his family.

Jack expressed gratitude for the support they had received since his father’s passing but explained they were unable to attend in person.

The performances began with English singer YUNGBLUD, who delivered a rendition of Osbourne’s well-known hit Crazy Train.

Following that, Tyler joined Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry for a performance of Mama, I’m Coming Home, a ballad closely associated with Osbourne’s career.

Tyler, who has faced significant health challenges with his voice in recent years, pushed through to perform at the tribute.

Aerosmith halted its tour in 2023 after doctors were unable to repair damage to Tyler’s vocal cords, which the band described as “an instrument like no other.”

Sources familiar with his medical condition said at the time that his vocal cords had been left “mangled.”

Despite those difficulties, Tyler performed the tribute song, delivering what attendees described as a heartfelt effort.

The tribute follows Osbourne’s death in late July.

The performer, widely known as the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath before launching a successful solo career, died just weeks after his final live appearance in Birmingham, England.

Following his passing, artists across genres paid their respects. Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper were among those who publicly honored Osbourne in the days after his death.

The latest gathering of his friends and collaborators added to the tributes, with performers highlighting his influence across multiple generations of music.

Osbourne, often referred to as the “Prince of Darkness,” rose to prominence in the 1970s with Black Sabbath and went on to achieve lasting fame with a solo career that produced multiple platinum albums.

His music, ranging from heavy metal anthems to more melodic ballads, influenced countless musicians and remains a defining part of rock history.

Tributes like the one featuring Tyler and Perry have underscored the close personal and professional relationships Osbourne maintained during his career.

Many of those who joined in celebrating his life have emphasized both his musical impact and his role as a friend and collaborator.

The concert marked another chapter in the series of memorials following Osbourne’s death.

As fans and fellow musicians continue to pay tribute, Osbourne’s legacy remains closely tied to the artists and friends who joined him onstage over decades in the rock industry.

The performances and remarks made during the event reflected both personal grief and public admiration, ensuring that Osbourne’s contributions to music will continue to be recognized and remembered in the years to come.
