Vice President J.D. Vance hits the nail on the head.
“Daniel Penny prevented this from happening on a NYC subway,” Vance wrote Wednesday above a photo of Iryna Zarutska sobbing into her hands, moments after being attacked. “Instead of thanking him, many hated him for it.” (RELATED: Legacy Media Won’t Touch Brutal Murder With A 10-Foot Pole)
Penny wasn’t just hated. He was tried for criminally negligent homicide in Manhattan.
Penny was a Marine Corps veteran who received national attention in 2023 when he put Jordan Neely, a homeless man, in a chokehold while riding the New York City Subway. Neely was reportedly issuing threats to other passengers. Neely died shortly after the incident. Penny was indicted for manslaughter.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg mourned the “tragic loss” of Neely. But Neely was no victim.
One witness testified to the grand jury, according to the New York Post, that Neely told others, “Someone is going to die today.”
The witness claimed the statements were “insanely threatening” and issued with a “sickening “ and “satanic” tone.
He “believed he was going to die as Neely began approaching him,” according to the New York Post’s review of court documents.
Another witness claims Neely said, “I want to go to Rikers, I want to go to prison.”
Neely has 42 prior arrests, reports City Journal. That includes “allegedly slugging a 67-year-old woman in November 2021 during a psychotic episode,” according to the New York Post.
As Vance wrote in reply to former Democratic North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, “Law enforcement arrested this thug 14 times. It wasn’t law enforcement that failed. It was weak politicians like you who kept letting him out of prison.”
The legacy media has become the master of double standards.
Look at how they treated Daniel Penny, a hero who saved lives, versus Iryna Zarutska, an innocent soul murdered by a violent career criminal.
The difference in coverage says it all.

Vance refers to Decarlos Brown Jr., the alleged murderer of Iryna Zarutska, whose rap sheet is long and grave. (RELATED: ‘I Got That White Girl’: Charlotte Train Stabbing Suspect Offered Shocking Admission Following Brutal Murder)
“The big lie the Democrats told about violent crime is that it’s ‘systemic’ and therefore no one’s really responsible. If the ‘system’ is to blame then you fund a bunch of nonprofits that don’t do anything besides give jobs to underqualified radicals,” Vance posted Sept. 9. “The reality is that the gross majority of violent crime is committed by a very small group of people and we should be throwing them in prison.”
Penny was punished for taking action. Zarutska was punished for doing nothing at all. One must conclude that Democrats want law-abiding citizens to shut up and take our beatings. In the name of reparations, I guess.
