Sports World Honors Charlie Kirk After Assassination

Charlie Kirk, a conservative icon who founded the youth activist organization Turning Point USA, died Wednesday after being shot at a speaking event that was taking place at Utah Valley University, according to President Donald Trump.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” said Trump on Truth Social. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

A manhunt for the suspect and investigation into the shooting are currently ongoing, per FBI Director Kash Patel.

Impacting everyone in America, including the sports world, honor and respect has been pouring in from the realm. The tributes have ranged from the New York Yankees holding a moment of silence before Wednesday’s game to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson speaking out against people celebrating Kirk’s death.
