Conservative-friendly Paramount boss pining to buy Warner Bros., maybe even take over CNN

David Ellison, the chairman and CEO of Paramount Skydance Corporation, is reportedly trying to buy the company that owns CNN.

This is a big deal because Ellison is the same man whom BizPac Review recently revealed is also considering buying The Free Press and giving founder Bari Weiss a role at CBS News that would task her “with guiding the editorial direction of the division.”

The Free Press is a classically liberal, conservative-friendly news and opinion outfit — one despised by left-wing propagandists. Weiss likewise is a classically liberal commentator who has in recent years distanced herself from the Democratic Party.

News of Ellison’s interest in purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery, the conglomerate that owns CNN, broke on Thursday via The Wall Street Journal, which revealed that he wants to bid “for the entire company, including its cable networks and movie studio.”

This is great news because Ellison is a conservative-friendly billionaire whose family also happens to be friends with Elon Musk:

The radicalized, hateful, murderous left is not happy about any of this.

NPR, the propaganda outlet that demands to be funded by the government, has accused Ellison of trying to “appease the right.”

Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote on both X and BlueSky that the merger “must be blocked as a dangerous concentration of power.”

The belief on the left appears to be that, because Ellison is friendly with conservatives, the media is about to be taken over and propagandized for the benefit of the Trump administration.

Never mind that the media has already been propagandized for the benefit of Democrats for literal decades.

The so-called “Nazi” mentioned by one deranged BlueSky user was in fact die-hard Christian conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was murdered earlier this week by a confirmed leftist.

Notice how these leftists are all worried about the right “consolidating power.” Again, it is the left that has consolidated power in media, academia, and entertainment for whole generations.

It’s only now, amid the rise of President Donald Trump, that the right is finally fighting back by scooping up its own institutions and playing by the same rules as the left has been playing by for ages.

Yet this is triggering rage in leftists. It brings to mind the quote that “when you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”

Indeed.

That being said, Ellison isn’t necessarily guaranteed to get Warner Bros.

“Analysts [said] that the potential offer from Paramount is likely the beginning of a bidding war for Warner Bros. Discovery, known as WBD,” according to CNN. “They cautioned that any actual deal would be a protracted, complicated affair.”

Bank of America Securities senior media and entertainment analyst Jessica Reif Ehrlich told CNN that if Paramount does make a bid for WBD, “they’re not the only ones who are going to be bidding, in our view.”

Complicating things is that, according to CNN, “Warner Bros. Discovery has been preparing to split itself into two in early 2026.”

Yet Ellison’s company, Paramount Skydance, “wants to make an offer for the whole company, in advance of the planned split.”
