Mourners across the globe held vigils in honor of Charlie Kirk after the Turning Point USA founder was assassinated Wednesday.
From London to Madrid, supporters gathered to sing, chant and pray, saying Kirk had died for the values they hold dear. Turning Point UK, a branch of the group Kirk founded to promote conservative ideas to students, said “tens of thousands of patriots” filled the streets of London on Friday for its vigil. British activist Tommy Robinson addressed the London gathering, urging attendees to “say a thank you, and honor the life of one of the generation’s greatest. A man who inspired a generation of young men based on courage and based on faith.”
“There is only one country in the world, and one government that is fighting for all our free speech,” Robinson added. “It’s not our government. It’s certainly not the European Union. It’s the Republican Party in the United States. It’s JD Vance. It’s Donald Trump.”

In Pretoria, a small group gathered outside the U.S. embassy to mourn Kirk.
Ernst Roets, head of the group Lex Libertas, called it “one international struggle,” saying Kirk “fought for his people and the things he loved; he, by implication, also fought for us and the things we love.”
“You can feel the sadness and the sorrow in the streets of South Africa,” Roets told the crowd.
