Pressure campaigns to oust ghouls from the public sphere for celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk took to the not-so-friendly skies with the help of James Woods and the transportation secretary.
While leftist leaders were twisting themselves in knots, endeavoring to deflect from their records of violent rhetoric and to spin the political assassination of the Christian patriot into an indictment of the right, their base continued to represent their own baser instincts with vile cheers for the tragic martyrdom.
Following a boost from Woods after the outspoken conservative actor highlighted an egregious example of a “shameless, hateful, and reckless” pilot, as described by Milo Yiannopoulos, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded to a number of major airlines taking action regarding their employees’ behavior.
In response to a report from CBS News’ Kris Van Cleave that American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines had all suspended employees for praising Kirk’s assassination, Duffy wrote Monday, “It is the right of every American to feel safe and free of political hate in our airspace. Thank you @Americanair, @united, and @Delta for suspending employees who praised Charlie Kirk’s assassination. @USDOT applauds you for taking the first step in sending the right message. The next step should be to fire them.”

Days earlier, the secretary had responded directly to a statement from American when he wrote, “American Airlines pilots who were caught celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk have been immediately grounded and removed from service by @AmericanAir. This behavior is disgusting, and they should be fired. Any company responsible for the safety of the traveling public cannot tolerate that behavior. We heal as a country when we send the message that glorifying political violence is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!”
That post followed the airline responding to Woods reacting, “Enjoy your flight!” after Yiannopoulos drew attention to pilot Steve Holmes’ post that read, “Well hey Charlie. Sorry you got shot in your fat f*cking forehead. It was the cost of our liberty. ‘Thoughts and prayers.’”
“American Airlines condemns violence of any kind. Furthermore, hate-related or hostile behavior runs contrary to our purpose, which is to care for people on life’s journey. Any such behavior is unacceptable, and we have already initiated action to address this with our team.”

Similar messages from Delta and United warranted direct responses from Duffy, who argued, “Anyone entrusted with the safety of American souls on a plane must have good judgment and compassion. As our world heals from the devastating loss of Charlie Kirk, we must continue condemning political violence for the greater good of our country.”
The actions from the airlines were part of a wave of similar fallout in various industries, while Woods shared a number of points addressing the broader societal issues at hand that had coalesced in the form of the assassination of a young husband and father.
In addition to sharing a video montage of corporate media figures and elected officials using the term “fascism” when describing President Donald Trump and the GOP with the caption, “Here is the roadmap to Charlie Kirk’s assassination,” Woods slammed those “twisting language like a pretzel to accommodate liberal madness” with a focus on the terms “transgender” and “gay.”
“Can we stop the nonsense and speak like rational people going forward, please?” wrote the award-winning entertainer who contended the appropriate terms were “transvestites” and “homosexuals” before adding, “As we have seen with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, language is lethal, but facts are friendly.”
The outcome for the airline employees found support on social media as users lauded the swift pace of accountability while further questioning the character of those who would celebrate such a tragedy.
I voted for accountability. Thank you!

this is exactly the kind of accountability we need to see across every sector. if people entrusted with the lives and safety of others can celebrate political violence without consequence, it sends a signal that hatred is acceptable and it’s not. @americanair made the right call…

Much more of this please!

How can passengers feel safe knowing there are extremists that celebrate the deaths of those like them piloting their planes and in control of life/death over them?

My immediate thought as well. It’s like roid rage

Thank you Sec. Duffy for standing strong against hate and ensuring safe skies for all Americans. Charlie Kirk was a patriot who fought for freedom—his tragic murder is a loss for us all. Airlines must fire those who celebrated it to send a clear message. #RIPCharlieKirk …
