Former Department of Homeland Security Senior Advisor Charles Marino issued a warning Monday during an appearance on Fox News’ The Faulkner Focus, saying violence within the transgender community is increasing as part of efforts to silence opposing views.
Marino joined host Harris Faulkner to discuss the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and ongoing investigations into possible ties between leftist groups and the suspect in custody, Tyler Robinson.
Authorities have said Robinson was influenced by leftist ideology.
“Well, right now with this suspect, we are starting to zero in on the transgender community,” Marino said.
“And what we have in that community is when the left tells that community that the right is to blame for every single aspect of their life when something goes wrong. Or something is interpreted as going wrong for them, that’s a very bad place.”
Marino added that the broader issue involves the silencing of differing opinions.
“And on top of that, we’re told that in the areas of opinions, people should not have differing opinions in this country. That people should be allowed not to express them. And that they can be silenced. Now, the dangerous thing here with the transgender community is the way they are moving to silence opinions.”

“It is becoming more and more violent,” Marino continued.
“And we’ve got to pay attention to the underlying theme of mental health. We can’t ignore that. Look, if we are going to solve this problem, let’s call it what it is. Let’s diagnose it right. And let’s move to fix it … but there is a serious problem here. The left is responsible for it.”
Well said @Charles__Marino there is a campaign to silence any criticism of transgender community. All you have to do is take a look on nextdoor or your local area’s facebook groups. Conservative voices and opinions are silenced. pic.twitter.com/rjiePTEB0p

The discussion coincided with Vice President J.D. Vance’s remarks on The Charlie Kirk Show, where he served as a guest host and addressed the reactions from some on the left to Kirk’s assassination.
Vance said there can be “no unity” with those who celebrated or excused the killing.
“It is a statistical fact that most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left,” Vance said.
“We can thank God that most Democrats don’t share these attitudes, and I do. While acknowledging that something has gone very wrong with the lunatic fringe, a minority, but a growing and powerful minority on the far left.”
He added that the behavior of some in the aftermath of Kirk’s death demonstrated why unity was not possible.
“There is no unity with people who scream at children over their parents’ politics,” Vance said, referencing an incident involving his family at Disneyland.
“There is no unity with someone who lies about what Charlie Kirk said in order to excuse his murder. There is no unity with someone who harasses an innocent family the day after the father of that family lost a dear friend.”
Vance continued: “There is no unity with the people who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s assassination. And there is no unity with the people who fund these articles, who pay the salaries of these terrorist sympathizers. Who argue that Charlie Kirk….deserved a shot to the neck because he spoke words with which they disagree.”
🚨 JD VANCE just WENT OFF on people who are calling for “UNITY” with radical leftists

There is NO UNITY with someone who LIES about what Charlie Kirk said in order to excuse his murder.

Marino’s remarks call attention to concerns over ideological violence and the potential for politically motivated acts to escalate.
Both his and Vance’s statements came as authorities continue investigating Robinson’s motives and any affiliations linked to the attack.
