Fox News host Greg Gutfeld confronted liberal commentator Jessica Tarlov during a panel discussion Monday after she argued that “both sides” should lower the political temperature in the wake of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and political commentator, was shot and killed last week.
Authorities identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was taken into custody Friday.
Investigators revealed over the weekend that Robinson lived with his transgender partner, Lance Twiggs. Police are examining whether Twiggs was a factor in the motive behind the killing.
One of the bullet casings recovered at the scene bore the words, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
The revelation intensified political debate on the case, including on Fox News, where Gutfeld strongly rejected Tarlov’s remarks that the tragedy should be used as a call for restraint by both conservatives and liberals.
“We don’t care about your ‘both sides’ argument. That shit is dead!” Gutfeld said.

He argued that the situation was not comparable to other incidents cited by Democrats.
Tarlov reportedly referred to the recent death of Minnesota Democratic lawmaker Melissa Hortman as part of her “both sides” framing, which Gutfeld immediately dismissed.
“On your side, your beliefs do not match reality so you’re coming up with these rationalizations. ‘What about this, what about that?’ We are not doing that because we saw it happen. We saw a young bright man assassinated and we know who did it!” Gutfeld said.
He continued by blaming the media for creating an environment of hostility toward conservatives and for failing to properly address the significance of Kirk’s assassination.
“The media is dead to us on this story. They built this thing up. We are dealing with it, we are going to act. We don’t care what the what about is anymore, that shit is dead!” Gutfeld said.

The panel exchange reflected a growing divide over how to frame Kirk’s murder.
Robinson remains in custody while authorities continue to pursue leads and examine possible influences, including ideological motivations tied to his relationship with Twiggs.
The case has drawn national attention, with investigators focusing on the shooter’s background and writings, as well as evidence recovered at the crime scene.
The bullet casing message, in particular, has been cited by officials as a direct indication of Robinson’s political intent.
Law enforcement agencies have not provided a timeline for when additional findings in the case may be released.
However, the ongoing investigation is expected to include questions about whether Robinson acted alone or if others were aware of his plans.
Kirk’s assassination has spurred reactions across political and media circles, with calls for accountability, concern over politically motivated violence, and criticism of how the story has been covered in the press.
