Discord Chat Shows More Than 20 Linked to Charlie Kirk Assassination Plot [WATCH]

FBI Director Kash Patel testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, telling lawmakers that a large online network may have been involved in the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Patel’s remarks expanded on statements he made during a Fox News interview on Monday, where he said more than 20 individuals may have participated in an online Discord chat with Tyler Robinson, 22, the suspect charged in Kirk’s killing.

Patel confirmed that the FBI is now investigating possible links between Robinson and others active in that chat.

The director said that Discord users believed to have been in communication with Robinson were contacted immediately.

“We’ve conducted investigations and interrogations with local law enforcement, and we’re continuing to do that because those closest to the suspect are going to hopefully know the most about the suspect, his beliefs, and his ideology,” Patel said.

Law enforcement sources leaked details of the Discord conversation, where Robinson allegedly admitted to the shooting hours before surrendering to Utah authorities.

“Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” read a message from an account believed to belong to Robinson.

“It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.”

Patel reiterated in media appearances that individuals who had knowledge of Robinson’s intentions but failed to act could also face criminal charges.

“There’s more than 20 individuals,” Patel told Fox News.

The discovery of the chatroom contrasted with earlier statements from Discord, which said it found no evidence of assassination planning on its platform.

Patel confirmed that the FBI has served legal process to the company in order to preserve potential evidence.

“We’re also going to be investigating anyone and everyone involved in that Discord chat,” he said.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) pressed Patel on the number of people involved.

When asked if the chat contained as many as 20 users, Patel responded, “It’s a lot more than that. We’re running them all down.”

Beyond Discord, investigators are also reviewing social media activity connected to the case.

Sources close to the FBI confirmed that agents are tracking down the identities of at least seven accounts that appeared to show advance knowledge of the Sept. 10 shooting of Kirk, which occurred at Utah Valley University.

Screenshots show that posts about the assassination appeared as early as a month before the attack.

These posts were deleted within days of Kirk’s death.

According to investigators, several of the accounts appear to belong to transgender individuals.

One of them reportedly followed Robinson’s roommate, who is also transgender and was in a relationship with the suspect.

On Sept. 3, an X account wrote, “itd be funny if someone like charlie kirk got shot on september 10th LMAO.”

Another post appeared on TikTok the night before the shooting.

A video caption read, “charles james kirk…does not know what’s coming tomorrow.”

The user added, “This isn’t a threat. It’s a promise.”

The FBI is continuing to examine these posts and accounts to determine whether they were directly tied to Robinson or if others conspired in planning the attack.

Investigators say the focus now is on identifying all those who may have been aware of Robinson’s intentions and whether additional charges will be filed.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to continue oversight hearings as the investigation develops.

Patel told lawmakers the Bureau is pursuing every lead in the case to determine the full scope of involvement in Kirk’s assassination.
