Saquon Barkley Slapped With Probably Most Ridiculous Fine Of All-Time After Steamrolling Chiefs Defender: REPORT

If you thought the NFL was soft before, this is really going to baffle you.

Out of all the running backs in the National Football League, Philadelphia Eagles superstar Saquon Barkley sees the fattest paychecks. So with that being the case, he’ll hardly feel the latest fine that he received from the NFL. With that being said, however, he surely can’t be happy about it considering how soft the league is for dishing it out.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the NFL slapped Barkley with a $46,371 fine, which is the biggest so far in the 2025 season, after apparent offensive unnecessary roughness in the Birds’ 20-17 Week 2 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. Barkley was fined over a play that saw him utterly steamroll Chiefs defensive back Chamarri Conner using his shoulder. Whether you watched it in the game or on instant replay, it all just appeared to be something standard that happens when a running back smashes their opponent. I mean, damn, we’ve seen that plenty in the league before. But the NFL apparently doesn’t see it that way.

A flag wasn’t issued during the play, not a single one, but the league still made the determination that it’s considered unnecessary roughness and fined Barkley a little more than $46,000.

Incredibly soft by the NFL, incredibly soft … next, we’re gonna see the league throwing out fines for pushing too hard, watch.
