Golf icon Phil Mickelson voices disdain for hateful Dems smearing Charlie Kirk

Awe over Erika Kirk’s message of “amazing grace” was coupled with disdain for the “hateful rhetoric” of two sitting lawmakers from professional golfer Phil Mickelson.

In the nearly two weeks since Charlie Kirk was assassinated, leftists have attempted to steer the conversation away from the ghoulish revelry of their base as part of an effort to drum up a tired “both sides” argument. However, as Mickelson highlighted, the two sides couldn’t be any more at odds as Kirk’s widow preached Christian forgiveness and Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar (MN) and Jasmine Crockett (TX) appeared to escalate tensions.

Sunday, the mother of Kirk’s two young children took to the stage before tens of thousands in attendance at State Farm Stadium, in addition to the millions viewing at home, and left the audience awestruck as she forgave the assassin who took her husband’s life.

“Wow!” wrote Mickelson on X in response to the message before calling out the congresswomen, “While [Ilhan] and Jasmine are speaking hateful rhetoric, Erika Kirk is saying this. I have no words. Amazing.”

In her remarks, Erika Kirk expressed, “My husband Charlie, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life. That young man. That young man. On the cross, our Savior said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do … That young man, I forgive him.”

“I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and is what Charlie would do,” she went on. “The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the Gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”

That message amid her full speech prompted the golfer to post, “Amazing strength, and amazing grace.”

Meanwhile, one day prior, Mickelson was clear about the outcome he hoped would befall the Somali-born Minnesota congresswoman as he responded to her appearance on CNN, doubling down on her divisive rhetoric to the network’s Kaitlan Collins.

As Omar refused to apologize for her comments about Kirk’s assassination, including sharing a video where the victim was called Dr. Frankenstein, whose “monster shot him through the neck,” she instead accused the Turning Point USA founder of spewing hate and insisted his legacy be left “in the dustbin of history.”

“Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and will hopefully be sent back to Somalia soon,” reacted the golfer.

Meanwhile, Crockett not only accused Kirk of racist rhetoric but also faulted her white peers in the House Democratic Caucus for not opposing a resolution to honor the man.

“The rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color,” she said Sunday on CNN. “It is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was — specifically to us.”

As it happened, the lawmakers were checked on CNN when senior political commentator Scott Jennings had his chance to both set the record straight on Kirk, who didn’t have “a racist bone in his body,” but also to respond to the rhetoric from the elected officials.

“And so, I think when you combine the no votes on the resolution and then you look at the leading democratic voices like Ilhan Omar and Jasmine Crockett, who’ve gone out to smear Charlie before he’s even had a funeral,” said Jennings to Dana Bash, “… When I hear people say we need to come together and both sides need to turn down the rhetoric, you know, a lot of people saying that need to look inward right now. I was shocked at that. Well, I guess I should say I’m shocked by her, but I was a little, little stunned by what happened this morning.”
