Marcus Mariota using the towel on Dan Quinn is the peak of this. (LMAO)
Usually, football coaches are on the sidelines watching their players either smash or get smashed, however, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was the one getting pummeled Sunday during a game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Marcus Mariota, Quinn’s quarterback, was running on a play and ended up getting pushed out of bounds to ultimately knock into his skipper. Quinn slammed into the ground after falling, and around the top of his nose, there was blood in the aftermath. With that being said, The Washington Post’s Tom Schad reported that at halftime he was “all smiles as he jogs to the locker room.”
Mariota was in the game after starting quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a sprained knee injury.

Here’s what Quinn had to say about the whole ordeal:
Dan Quinn: “I’m OK. Everything’s good. It’s just going to be this kind of day where it’s a physical game.”

Crazy scene, sure, but this is part and parcel of football. The amount of coaches I’ve seen get knocked over … and it’s not even just coaches, you’ve got staffers and cameramen who have seen punishment. Hell, even cheerleaders have gotten it.
That’s football, baby. And that’s exactly why Quinn pretty much said “nothing to see here, move on.”
