Shooter at Texas immigration facility left ‘anti-ICE’ messages on ammo, FBI says

Daily Caller News Foundation

A suspect who fired shots near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on Wednesday morning in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday left “anti-ICE” messages on rounds, FBI officials said.

Police found the shooter dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the suspect shot three victims, killing two, officials said at a Wednesday press conference. “Early evidence that we’ve seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature,” said Joseph Rothrock, special agent in charge at the FBI’s Dallas field office.

FBI Director Kash Patel later posted a picture on X of a shell casing engraved with the phrase “anti ICE” at the scene.

“No members of law enforcement were hurt during this attack,” according to Rothrock. The FBI is investigating the shooting as an “act of targeted violence,” he said.

Dallas officers responded to an assist-officer call at around 6:40 a.m. at the ICE building, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux told reporters. The shooter fired “from an adjacent building,” the Dallas Police Department (DPD) said in an X post.

Authorities did not identify the suspect or a motive at the press conference. The two deceased victims are ICE detainees, according to multiple reports.
