Former Vice President Kamala Harris claims a scheduling conflict was behind the failed attempt to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast leading up to the 2024 election.
But it was no ordinary scheduling conflict, as the failed Democratic nominee notes in her new book, “107 Days,” that she “really wanted to do it,” but it was the podcaster and his team who botched the interview.
In an excerpt from the book shared by MSNBC contributor Sam Stein on X, Harris gave her version of what happened in the lead-up to the failed interview that proved to be another disastrous misstep in her presidential campaign.
Then-GOP nominee Donald Trump’s interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” on October 25 last year “came as a surprise” to Harris and her team, according to the book excerpt. Harris noted that she was told that the date was a “personal day” for the podcast host and that he would be unable to schedule an interview with her.

“We’d been back and forth with Rogan since late September or early October,” Harris wrote.
“Rogan’s producers came back to us with a list of conditions,” she added, noting that she “had no problem with any of that” and planned to do the podcast while she campaigned in Michigan.
But Rogan reportedly reconsidered and asked to do the interview in Austin, Texas, where he is based, which Harris contended was a “big ask.”
“Even though most of my team thought doing the interview at all was a gamble, and others bluntly argued it was a bad idea, I really wanted to do it,” Harris wrote. “One podcast was not going to win or lose the election. But Rogan’s audience was young and male. I wanted to reach those guys who might not otherwise hear from me.”
She went on to recount that her team reached out to Rogan on Oct. 18 to set up an Oct. 25 interview.
“Then the word came back: ‘It’s a personal day for Joe. He’s not available. If you’d just called a day before, we could have done it,’” the excerpt read, noting that suggestions for another date and time did not pan out because of “commitments.”
Harris went on to note how Rogan’s “personal day” was used to interview Trump.
Rogan has addressed the claims by the Harris camp, saying earlier this year that the former VP “never agreed to do the show.”
“No, we just didn’t tell you that Trump was coming on. He was already booked a long time ago. This is how it worked: Trump was really easy to book, like super easy. We offered one day, he said ‘yes,’ that was it,” Rogan said.
BREAKING: Joe Rogan confirms that the Kamala Harris campaign LIED about Joe “not making time for Kamala.” He says that they refused to commit to a time, lied that he was unavailable, pretended they sent someone to view his set, and this lie was Kamala’s team covering their ass. pic.twitter.com/P8K9yBL6H4

While Harris attempted to deliver her version of what happened with Rogan, X users were not buying it.
Houston to Austin is a 2 hour drive or an even shorter flight.

Incredible she’s still trying to come up with excuses for dodging Rogan. Two full pages in her book of totally nonsensical/lazy excuses a year later is hilarious.
We all know why it didn’t happen: Joe wouldn’t allow them to prescribe content or timing restrictions that would…

Excuse after excuse and then added an unnecessary tidbit about Trump leaving a dwindling audience in the cold. Pathetic

Is the title of this book “it’s everyone’s fault but mine”

“I wasn’t in the weeds on any of it. I left that up to my staff.”
That’s one reason she lost. Joe Rogan is one of the most important voices in media today, more so that pretty much anyone in the legacy media.
She should have been on top of it.
