Tarlov Calls GOP ‘Vengeful Bunch Of Babies’ After Comey Indictment

Democrat strategist Jessica Tarlov said Friday on Fox News’ “The Five” that former President Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons because he “knew” Republicans would be a “vengeful bunch of babies,” referring to the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Thursday that Comey was indicted on two of three counts related to allegations of lying to Congress in September 2020. Fox’s Jesse Watters said he no longer cares if Democrats label Comey’s case as “revenge.” He asked Tarlov whether members of her party ever thought “this would happen.” (RELATED: Former Federal Prosecutor Breaks Down How Comey Leaked Details To Media)

“They did!” Tarlov said. “Which is why Biden gave preemptive pardons because he knew you were a vengeful bunch of babies!”

Watters hit back.

“But who didn’t get it? Who didn’t get the pardon? Comey didn’t get the pardon,” Watters said. “So this is just the beginning. Everybody has to have their house in order. They’ve got to make sure their taxes are right. They’ve got to make sure they never lied to Congress. They have to make sure they never committed mortgage fraud because the difference here is these things are actual crimes. When you lie to Congress, it’s a crime. When you obstruct an official investigation that’s a crime. They didn’t have to bake up some fugazi, untested, unprecedented law [thing] like [Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin] Bragg.”

In December 2024, Biden granted clemency to nearly 1,500 individuals, including several Democratic politicians and public officials convicted on corruption charges. Biden also issued pardons to prominent figures, including his son Hunter Biden, Gen. Mark A. Milley and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Tarlov notably said on “The Five” on Sept. 8 that the move from the former president should have gone through the “proper” DOJ channels for his last-minute pardons.

Tarlov went on to say that former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Erik Siebert, who public reports indicate has family ties to Comey, resigned from his position Sept. 19 after President Donald Trump called for his removal.

“Oh Erik Siebert! He’s basically Comey’s best friend. He got stuck in there, and then his son-in-law is in there! And then like all of Comey’s misfits are sitting in there. You get him out of there. Clean out the scum and put real people in there to do the job,” Watters said.

Tarlov told Watters that he just “hates accomplished people,” questioning whether he would consider Trump administration officials like current FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi who are willing to do the job. When Watters pushed back, calling Patel a “serious guy,” Tarlov responded by saying Patel once claimed he “didn’t know if Epstein ever trafficked anyone.”

“We really don’t care what you guys say or what you think or how loud you’re complaining because you guys did this. You started it, and we’re gonna finish it,” Watters said.

According to the DOJ, Comey faces one count of making an alleged false statement within jurisdiction of the legislative branch and one count of obstruction of a congressional investigation. The announcement from the Justice Department comes a day after reports speculated that the DOJ would ask a grand jury to indict Comey as a legal deadline for charges approaches.

Comey’s charges come after reports broke in July that the former FBI director and former CIA Director John Brennan were placed under criminal investigation for potential wrongdoing regarding the infamous Steele dossier as they had testified about it to Congress.

The former FBI director responded hours after the DOJ announced the charges, posting a nearly minute-long video to Instagram in which he said he and his family have known “for years” the “costs” of “standing up to” Trump but couldn’t “imagine living any other way.” He added that they would not “live on our knees.” He also asked viewers to stay “engaged” and pay attention.
