Florida AG calls out Soros-backed Dem prosecutor for ‘heinous’ soft-on-crime approach to pedos

A Soros-backed prosecutor previously suspended in Florida for alleged “dereliction of duty” faced new outcry over her supposed soft-on-crime response to “Heinous actions that endanger kids.”

While many have lauded Florida as the Freedom State, the decisions by Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell’s (D) office regarding two particular cases appeared to push that idea too far. So much so, in fact, that Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) was led to call her out for potential “misfeasance and malfeasance” in two cases involving alleged child predators.

Friday, Uthmeier held a press conference and shared a letter sent to Worrell with regard to a case involving a 61-year-old man accused of masturbating in front of children at a public park, who wasn’t prosecuted, and another of a man said to have shared videos of the rape of infants and toddlers allegedly dismissed. “Heinous actions that endanger kids. Do your job and enforce the law.”

Within the letter, the AG stated, “These dismissals lacked sufficient legal justification, exhibit gross abuses of discretion, pose serious threats to public safety, and undermine the public’s confidence in the administration of justice,” a notion that, despite the press conference from Worrell refuting the claim, was backed by Uthmeier’s communications director Jeremy Redfern who shared a receipt and said, “Anyway… here is the motion signed and filed by one of Worrell’s assistant state attorney that says her office dropped the Dolgos case. Whoopsie.”

According to WKMG News 6, Worrell’s office had received the letter minutes before a previously scheduled press conference on road rage. The timing did not prevent her from including a presentation of a timeline of events in the case of the 61-year-old and claiming, “All things that are wrong are not illegal. And I’m not standing before you today telling you that what happened in that park was wrong. But I am standing before you today telling you that I trust the word of the attorney who was assigned to this case when he said, ‘Although those actions were wrong, he could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they were illegal.’”

To that statement, Uthmeier had bluntly responded on X, “Nope. It’s quite illegal.”

As it happened, Worrell had been suspended in 2023 by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) as her use of prosecutorial discretion was said to have resulted in soft-on-crime “categorical enforcement practices.” Though the move was upheld by the state Supreme Court, Worrell had successfully won re-election to return to office.

The attorney general had called out in his letter, “Public safety depends upon the faithful execution of your duties. You have the duty to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the people. You neglect that duty when you ‘knowingly permit [criminal conduct] and prefer no charges therefor.”

“A man who masturbated on a park bench in front of–and perhaps to–small, innocent children should be detained and criminally prosecuted. Likewise, a man who possessed and shared dozens of videos featuring the rape and sexual abuse of infants and toddlers should be prosecuted,” wrote Uthmeier. “Your failure to do so in these cases breaches your duties as a prosecutor. In addition to neglect of duty and incompetence, it may further amount to misfeasance and malfeasance.”

“She gave this man a free walk in the park, and now other kids are in jeopardy,” the state’s top cop said during his press conference as outrage stirred on social media. “Soft-on-crime policies do not work.”
