Georgia ‘Steak ‘n Shake’ owner draws spotlight over billboard honoring Charlie Kirk

The owner of a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant in Georgia has gone mega viral for commissioning a billboard in honor of the late Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

“Charlie Kirk, 1993-2025,” the billboard reads, followed by the words, “Stand up, speak out, stay bold.”

Look:

The billboard is the brainchild of Wayne Robinson, the president of Wayne Robinson Holdings and the owner of a Steak ‘n Shake in Rome.

Speaking with Fox News, Robinson said he was devastated by Kirk’s murder and assassination earlier this month.

“I’ve always been a follower of Charlie,” he said. “He was bringing so many of those young people to Christ. … He touched me, and when the assassination happened, it was something that really wore heavy on me.”

Indeed, the very day after Kirk’s passing, Robinson told his underlings to “put something out there to honor Charlie.” That “something” turned out to be a billboard. A billboard that resonated very well with the public.

Within days of the billboard being erected, it’d received millions of likes on social media, in addition to a “phenomenal” local response.

“I think it’s got 58,000 local comments,’ Robinson said. “People from outlying areas saying they’re going to drive to my store just to eat lunch, eat dinner, just to pay respect for what I’ve done for Charlie.”

The gratitude has since spread to other Steak ‘n Shake locations across the country as well.

Meanwhile, Robinson and his store have been receiving calls from all across the country thanking them for the billboard.

“They took the time to physically find us, find our phone number at the store and call to say thank you for doing that,” he explained.

He even got a call from Steak ‘n Shake’s corporate office.

“They said, ‘You know, you’re supposed to get everything OK’d through corporate when you use the name Steak ‘n Shake on it, but we really like it,’” he recalled

It reached [the Steak ‘n Shake owner], and he liked it so much he asked if they could have permission … to do this across the nation,” Robinson added.

While he remains sad about Kirk’s tragic passing, he’s comforted knowing that the Turning Point USA founder’s legacy is “reaching a lot of people and changing a lot of minds.”

“He has started a revival across the country that has been so needed,” Robinson said. “I don’t think he would have ever thought, in his wildest dreams, the response that would have taken place after he was assassinated. But the movement is great … and I just appreciate all that he did.”

All this comes amid Steak ‘n Shake’s corporate department erecting its own billboard in West Nashville calling for Cracker Barrel to fire its CEO, Julie Felss Masino, the DEI-friendly leftist responsible for the restaurant’s recent “woke” brand redesign.

“Yes, we are responsible for this billboard,” the restaurant wrote on social media. “Cracker Barrel’s board has failed its shareholders. It has spent over a decade fighting with one of its largest shareholders rather than collaborating for the good of the company.”

“CB has been at the forefront of the DEI movement at the same time it has reduced food quality and burned millions on failed acquisitions. The board apparently has more regard for DEI than ROI,” it added.

“Now, we are running a proxy contest at our own expense to fire the CEO. Biglari is doing the work left undone by the board. Fire the CEO! Save Cracker Barrel!” it continued.

Biglari was a reference to Steak n’ Shake owner and CEO Sardar Biglari, who owns a $54.5 million stake in Cracker Barrel.
