Left-wing extremists chanted “shoot ICE” at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents outside a processing center in Illinois on Friday.
The chant occurred as a “mob of over 200 violent psychopaths” tussled with ICE agents outside the Broadview Processing Center, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS):

In the tweet above, DHS made sure to note that this incident occurred just days after the anti-ICE terror attack in Dallas.
According to Chicago station WGN, the protest outside the facility “remained peaceful until about 7:30 a.m. local time, when agents attempted to drive down a road that was blocked by the group.”
“As agents attempted to get by, protestors appeared to begin banging on the windows of the car as it continued forward,” the station reported. “Simultaneously, a large group of the protestors positioned themselves in front of the SUV as it made its way toward the processing center.”
Watch some of this below, but keep in mind that the woman who posted the clip is herself a far-left extremist:

DHS said in a press release that the extremists were caught with “boxes of fireworks, N-95 masks, gas masks, goggles, knee and elbow protection, and large quantities of food and water.”
“This is not the first time this facility has seen violence from rioters,” the press release continues. “Since Operation Midway Blitz began, rioters have assaulted law enforcement, thrown tear gas cans, slashed tires of cars, blocked the entrance of the building, and trespassed on private property.”
Operation Midway Blitz is an immigration enforcement initiative launched in the Chicago area earlier this month.
“These violent threats and smears about ICE must stop,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “There is no place in American politics for violence.”
She continued by calling for Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to condemn these violent “riots” and tone down their own rhetoric about ICE and its agents.
“These riots outside the ICE Broadview Processing Center and attacks on ICE officers come after Democrat politicians, including Governor Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson, have villainized and demonized ICE law enforcement,” she added.
The White House published proof of this on Friday. The proof consists of a list of example after example after example of Democrat officials smearing ICE:

Local Democrat officials have, for their part, chosen to double, triple, and quadruple down on their anti-ICE, pro-illegal alien rhetoric. For instance, Chicago Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez slammed ICE for detaining two of the left-wing extremists at Friday’s riot.
“We see people being detained unjustly,” he told WGN. “We are here quickly responding, supporting them because they support us.”
“We are demanding the immediate release of our neighbors and the stop of operations here in our state and city. We want this facility to be shut down immediately,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the mayor of Broadview, Katrina Thompson, sent a letter to ICE demanding that they stop holding left-wing extremists and rioters accountable for their bad behavior.
“The relentless deployment of tear gas, pepper spray, mace, and rubber bullets in the vicinity of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement processing center in the Village of Broadview is endangering nearby village residents and harming Broadview Police Officers, Broadview Firefighters, and American citizens exercising their 1st Amendment constitutional rights,” she alleged.
“In effect, you are making war on my community,” she added.
