It’s taken more than four years, but the brutal truth is now pouring out about the FBI’s role in the chaos at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, that served as the basis for the failed effort to frame President Donald J. Trump for leading an “insurrection” against the federal government.
Now that it’s been revealed that the nation’s top law enforcement agency dispatched over 250 plainclothes agents to the Capitol on the fateful day, a bombshell report quotes the dissatisfaction by agents with the “hopelessly broken” Washington Field Office (WFO) and the belief by some that they were used as “pawns in a political war.”
Investigative reporter John Solomon of Just the News cites the frustration that FBI agents expressed in an after-action report that was hidden from the public for over four years, with the contents being nothing short of damning for the Bureau, which was toxically polluted by left-wing politics under the leadership of former directors James Comey and Christopher Wray.

“Scores of FBI agents and personnel – many from the bureau’s premier Washington field office (WFO) – sent anonymous complaints to the after-action team detailing how agents were sent into an unsafe scenario without proper safety equipment or the ability to identify themselves readily as armed officers to other police agencies,” according to Solomon and fellow investigative reporter Steven Richards.
“WFO is a hopelessly broken office that’s more concerned about wearing masks and recruiting preferred racial/sexual groups than catching actual bad guys,” an FBI worker wrote.
“We have been used as pawns in a political war, and FBI leadership fell into the trap and has allowed it to happen,” one employee pointed out. “We are supposed to call balls and strikes, regardless of political pressure, now we can’t even be trusted to be on the field.”
“Our response to the Capitol Riot reeks of political bias,” another said.
Another was highly critical of the deployment to the Capitol on J6: “I wish you all would pay more attention to our safety than what type of masks we wear. If you are going to deploy us to a riot situation, then give us the proper damn safety equipment–helmet, face shield, protective clothing–and training!”
“The FBI should make clear to its personnel and the public that, despite its obvious political bias, it ultimately still takes its mission and priorities seriously,” one employee wrote in a “stinging review.”
“It should equally and aggressively investigate criminal activity regardless of the offenders’ perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations; and it should equally and aggressively protect all Americans regardless of perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations,” the unnamed agent added, urging leadership “to identify viable exit options for FBI personnel who no longer feel it is legally or morally acceptable to support a federal law enforcement and intelligence agency motivated by political bias.”
Another agent quoted in the report expressed the opinion that the problem of leftist political bias wasn’t confined to the FBI and extended to the Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney’s office.
“Currently, the US Attorneys office is dictating what it is that gets investigated. This is a dangerous precedent because we can barely get them to prosecute investigations that clearly meet thresholds needed for Federal prosecutions,” the agent complained.
“However, their willingness to conduct a search warrant on someone’s life for a misdemeanor seems ridiculous. It is unreasonable for the FBI to conduct investigations involving misdemeanor violations at a federal level… it is not our role,” the person wrote.
According to the report, the buried after-action responses, which totaled 50 pages, were found by current FBI Director Kash Patel’s team and were recently “turned over to the House Judiciary Committee and its special subcommittee investigating security failures and weaponization of law enforcement during the Jan. 6 riot.”
“The idea that I’m biased against conservatives seems somewhat insane to me, given my own personal background,” Wray said during 2023 testimony to Congress, defending himself from suggestions that he ran an agency that was effectively functioning as the Democratic Party’s secret police.
“This FBI is continuing to deliver on our promise of ultra transparency. The only reason you have answers is because we are finding and producing materials exposing corruption at record levels,” Patel said in a Friday post to X, sharing Solomon’s report.
This FBI is continuing to deliver on our promise of ultra transparency. The only reason you have answers is because we are finding and producing materials exposing corruption at record levels. Thank you to the men and women @FBI once again delivering for the American people.

“Thank you to the men and women @FBI once again delivering for the American people. No one else is on Mission like we are,” the new director added.
