‘Multiple Victims’ In Shooting At Michigan LDS Church

Police say there are “multiple victims” and a burning chapel after an active shooting at a meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan.

Grand Blanc Township Police Department said that the “shooter is down” and that “There is NO threat to the public at this time.”

The church was “actively on fire” during the time of the statement, and a reunification site was established nearby, according to the statement. (RELATED: North Carolina Man Arrested After Killing Three, Injuring Several Others In Deadly Waterfront Shooting)

Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Kash Patel, said that the FBI is “tracking reports of the horrific shooting and fire” and that “agents are on the scene to assist local authorities.”

“Violence in a place of worship is a cowardly and criminal act. Our prayers are with the victims and their families during this terrible tragedy,” Patel added

The shooting took place the day following the death of the 101-year-old president of the church, Russell M. Nelson.

This is a developing story.
