‘A Broken Nose And A Concussion’: DOGE’s ‘Big Balls’ Recounts Brutal Beating To Save Friend

Former Department of Government Efficiency staffer Edward Coristine, also known online as “Big Balls,” recounted Monday during Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” the night he was brutally beaten while walking his friend back to her car.

Reports of the attack against Coristine quickly circulated online in August after President Donald Trump and Elon Musk posted about the incident. Sitting with Fox’s Jesse Watters, the host asked Coristine to take him through what happened the night of the attack in Washington, D.C. “I was hanging out with a group of my friends late at night and at about 3 a.m we were wrapping up, and I was walking one of my friends back to her car. As we’re walking to the car there’s a group of 10 guys right across the street,” Coristine said. “And as we get to the car and she begins to fumble for the keys, they start shouting at us, and really quickly I knew something was really off about the situation.”

“So she unlocks the car, [and] I rush her into the driver’s seat. She’s able to close the door behind her and lock the doors,” Coristine added. “Right as I turn around they run up on me — they’re just a few feet away, and they slam me against the car. They start throwing a bunch of punches. I keep my hands up [and] I’m just like, ‘All right, I’m getting a lot of punches here. Let me just try to protect my head the best way that I can.’ Luckily the whole thing didn’t last too long. The police showed up pretty quickly, so I was very fortunate I only came out with a broken nose and a concussion. It could have been a lot worse.”

While not naming Coristine, the president posted to Truth Social in August about Washington D.C.’s crime being “totally out of control,”  sharing a photo of the victim — later identified as “Big Balls” — sitting on the floor covered in blood. According to a D.C. Metropolitan Police Department police report obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the attack occurred on Aug. 3 with approximately 10 suspects fleeing the scene on foot after police arrived.

Officials said that a 15-year-old juvenile male and a 15-year-old juvenile female from Hyattsville, Md., were both arrested and charged with unarmed carjacking.

Watters went on to emphasize how important it was that Coristine was quick to protect his head, noting that he saved not just his friend’s car, but potentially her life.

“It was a really bad situation, and the carjacking didn’t make a lot of sense because it was like the cheapest car on the block. So it felt like there might have been something else going on there,” Coristine said.

The attack on Coristine comes shortly after GOP intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym was fatally shot in the city on June 30 and also after two Israeli Embassy staff members were gunned down near the Capital Jewish Museum in May.

Just days after the attack on Coristine went viral online, Trump announced on Aug. 11 the deployment of the National Guard to combat violent crime in Washington, D.C. Since Trump’s crackdown, homicides have dropped 53%, robberies are down 57%, carjackings are down 75%, and overall violent crime is down 39%, according to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro.
