Don Lemon whines that Hegseth is a ‘DEI hire’ in pathetic gasp for attention

Proving that he either doesn’t know what he’s talking about or is just desperate for attention, Don Lemon called Secretary of War Pete Hegseth a “DEI hire.”

It also continues the tradition of leftists trying to pick up on tactics that have been successfully utilized by conservatives to change social and political narratives. It’s been seen time and time again with Democrats questioning President Donald Trump’s physical and mental fitness to hold office, something that started during former President Joe Biden’s term, as Americans became more and more concerned about the aging leader.

It’s clear that leftists are looking to copy what works, but the problem is that it simply doesn’t apply to Hegseth.

Lemon joined Dan Abrams on his SiriusXM show to disparage Hegseth, who addressed top military leaders and encouraged a fitter, more battle-ready military. This included some blunt comments about “fat troops” and “fat generals” being unacceptable and out of line with ideal physical fitness standards.

“Well, I think that kind of proves my point. If we were done with that, I don’t think he would be Secretary of Defense,” Lemon said. “In his definition and the Trump Administration’s definition of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Pete Hegseth is a DEI hire. Pete Hegseth is not qualified for that position, and he shouldn’t be in that position. Therefore, it’s very tough for me — and many people in America — to take him seriously about anything.”

The sentiment was quickly echoed by leftist X accounts:
