Golf star Brooks Koepka’s wife Jena Sims revealed Monday that she suffered pregnancy loss in a heartbreaking social media post.
Sims shared personal images on Instagram alongside a lengthy statement.
“Trigger Warning: Pregnancy Loss and Infertility,” she wrote before continuing. “At 16 weeks, we learned that our baby’s heart had stopped beating.”
“This is a grief no parent is ever prepared for. We are devastated, but remain hopeful to give Crew a sibling one day,” she wrote.
Koepka and Sims are parents to a son named Crew, born in 2023.
The model embraced others who have shared in her suffering.
“Too often, these struggles happen in silence. There is still so much work and research needed to better understand and support women’s reproductive health. If you’re experiencing or have experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, please know you are not alone. 💔”
Sims shared an image of her sonagram, as well as a photograph of an envelope with small print that read, “footprints.” The 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model also shared a video that showed tender interactions with Crew and an image of her baby bump.
She signed off by nodding to medical professionals — acknowledging that such circumstances also took a toll on them. (RELATED: Boy Meets World’ Actress Trina McGee Says She Suffered Miscarriage)
“Lastly, I want to recognize the doctors and nurses who must deliver this kind of heartbreaking news every day. It has to be the hardest part of their job, and I’m holding space in my heart for you too,” Sims wrote.
Sims has worked as an actress with appearances in “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “The Vampire Diaries” and multiple films and TV series.
