Kemi Badenoch said she doesn’t believe that 50% of Tory members think she should not lead the party into the next election. What are polls anyway…
She told Sky News:
“Well, I simply don’t believe that. That’s not what’s happening at the conference. And the fact is Beth, four years ago, Keir Starmer had his worst election result ever. And, you know, people were asking these questions. He’s Prime Minister now.”
Kemi was then asked when things will get better for the Tories:
“The last oppositions were 14 years, 13 years, 18 years. I’ve been in the job for 11 months. We’re going to do something that has not been done before; come back to office in four years time. But what I need to focus on is getting that right, not setting timetables.”
