‘you are becoming a bigger joke’

She may have deleted the post, but Greta Thunberg is about to find out that the internet is forever.

On Monday, the Swedish climate activist who has recently taken a shine to the situation in Gaza, posted an image on Instagram decrying the treatment of Palestinian prisoners. Attached were heartwrenching images, but Thunberg clearly doesn’t do her research before hitting publish.

Look:

“The suffering of Palestinian prisoners is not a matter of opinion — it is a fact of cruelty and dehumanization. Humanity cannot be selective. Justice cannot have borders,” the post reads.

The problem? One of the photos shows 24-year-old Israeli Evyatar David, and the image had been pulled from a Hamas video in which he was depicted digging his own grave. David’s sister, Yeela David, was furious about her brother’s image being used in pro-Palestine propaganda.

“You should make a research before you post things you don’t understand about. In the 6th slide you put a photo of an Israeli Hostage who Hamas starved on purpose. This is Evyatar David,” she seethed, according to The New York Post. “Every minute you are not deleting the post, you are becoming a bigger joke.”

At the time, the image of the emaciated hostage sparked international outrage and condemnation from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Hamas terrorists deliberately starve our hostages, documenting them in a cynical, humiliating, and malicious manner,” he raged.

The image in question shows David crossing off dates on a calendar, indicating how many days he had gone without eating. While Thunberg eventually edited out the image of the Israeli hostage, it does not appear that she has made a public statement regarding the insulting error. Even a sanitized, PR-approved apology to David’s sister is absent, making one wonder if Thunberg cares at all for the plight of Israeli hostages being held in Gaza, or if she is singularly focused on Palestine because it is the left’s cause du jour.

This blunder comes days after she and her posse were booted out of Israel following their “Freedom Flotilla” efforts. While they claim that they were “subjected to torture” while in Israel, the country’s foreign ministry is denying that they were mistreated in any way. The group did not share any details of the “torture.”
