A Chinese national who entered the United States illegally and was living in Chicago under Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s sanctuary policies has been indicted in Ohio for operating a multistate human and sex trafficking ring, authorities confirmed this week, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
According to Marion County Now, 53-year-old Xiaoping Peng of Chicago was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury on multiple felony counts linked to a trafficking and prostitution network run out of a “Chinese Spa” located at 1288 Delaware Avenue in Marion, Ohio.
Investigators say Peng oversaw operations that transported women from Illinois to Ohio for sexual exploitation between March 6 and June 17, 2025.
Authorities allege Peng acted as both a courier and recruiter, moving victims across state lines and collecting proceeds connected to forced prostitution.
The charges were filed following a months-long investigation by Marion police and other law enforcement agencies, which traced communications and financial transactions linking Peng to operations across several states.
During a raid of the Delaware Avenue spa, investigators reportedly uncovered evidence of ongoing human trafficking and forced prostitution. Officials say the site functioned as part of a larger network exploiting immigrant women under coercive and abusive conditions.
Peng was charged with:

Two Counts of Trafficking in Persons for Involuntary Servitude
Two Counts of Promoting Prostitution
Peng was arraigned before Judge Todd Anderson, who set bond at $1 million after prosecutors outlined the extensive scope of the alleged operation.
Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan noted that the case’s interstate nature could bring federal coordination into the investigation if connections beyond Ohio are confirmed.
“If convicted,” officials said, Peng faces up to 11 years in prison per first-degree felony, along with significant fines.
Grogan credited community members for alerting authorities to suspicious activity, stating that citizen tips were vital in launching the probe. He emphasized the importance of public awareness in combating human trafficking rings that often operate in plain sight.
“Human trafficking thrives in the shadows, but we’re shining a light on it here in Marion,” Grogan said. “Peng’s arrest serves as a warning to all exploiters: we will track you down, no matter how far you travel, and hold you accountable.”
