Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has had it with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senate Democrats for refusing to reopen the government.
Appearing on Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends, Johnson blasted Democrats for a “hate America” rally planned for next week on the National Mall, saying this is taking precedence over passing a bill to fund the federal government.
“I’m a very patient guy, but I have had it with these people. They’re playing games with real people’s lives,” he said.
The Republican leader said the rally will draw the “pro-Hamas” crowd and members of the domestic terrorist group known as Antifa.
“Some of the House Democrats are selling t-shirts for the event, and it’s being told to us that they won’t be able to reopen the government until after that rally because they can’t face their rabid base,” the speaker said. “I mean, this is serious business, hurting real people, and I just — I’m beyond words.”

Johnson noted on his website that the House “has already passed a clean, nonpartisan continuing resolution (CR) to fund essential services and keep the government open for the American people.”
He said President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans stand united behind that legislation, but that Washington Democrats “are prolonging the shutdown to satisfy their radical base.”
“Rather than work across the aisle to reopen the government, Senator Schumer and Representative Jeffries are catering to the same radical groups organizing the ‘No Kings’ protest on October 18 — groups that have spent weeks pressuring Democrats to shut the government down,” his office explained.
“Axios reports that Schumer and his team even established a private ‘shutdown war room’ with progressive activists, unions, and operatives — including MoveOn and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee — to coordinate messaging and strategy,” the webpage continued. “The effort began weeks before the shutdown, with Schumer’s office sharing talking points and campaign-style materials to rally the Far-Left.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
They may still appease their base at the No Kings rallies next week, but they have lost more voters than their base those 10 days (and counting).

If they hate America, have ICE on hand to round them up and deport them over into Iran, Syria, Iraq et al..

With so many defections from the Dem party, there are only 2 kinds left: radical leftists who desp*se our great country and the uber elite who pay them as foot soldiers.
