Whistleblower claims Seattle hires unqualified illegal immigrants as jail guards, over 100 suspected

Blue states aren’t only protecting illegal aliens, as a whistleblower claims that one so-called sanctuary county is placing them in charge of other criminals.

With immigration enforcement being a key element of President Donald Trump’s America First agenda, open border-loving leftists have taken great lengths to obstruct the restoration of national sovereignty. Not only has their advocacy of confronting law enforcement been at the forefront… a whistleblower has now also exposed the alleged hiring of over 100 corrections officers in the state of Washington with expired or otherwise invalid visas.

Reported by columnist and radio host Jason Rantz for Seattle Red, the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission confirmed that a whistleblower complaint had been filed amid allegations that the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention (DAJD) was violating a state code to improperly hire corrections officers.

“Individuals have been hired while holding only temporary work visas, and in some cases, with expired work authorization altogether,” read the complaint from the whistleblower, a current corrections officer. “These hires are in direct violation of the statutory requirements set forth by state law.”

The statute in question, RCW 43.101.095, stipulates that, in addition to U.S. citizens, only lawful permanent residents and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients can be certified corrections officers.

“The scale of the problem cannot be overstated,” the whistleblower said. “It is estimated that well over 100 corrections officers currently employed by DAJD may fall into questionable status. Some estimates place the number closer to 130 officers. If the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission revokes their certifications, these individuals would be unable to continue serving as corrections officers. The loss of this many staff would place the County’s jail system on the brink of collapse.”

DAJD Director Allen Nance was called out for allegedly showing an “extreme inability to effectively run our jails” as his leadership’s “disregard for compliance with state law has put public safety in King County at unacceptable risk.”

In their own statement on the matter, DAJD claimed, “The officers in question are all authorized to work in the United States, are highly trained for their roles, have undergone an extensive criminal background check process, and are in good standing with King County.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the county conceded, “It appears that King County may have improperly applied a requirement set forth by a Washington State statute that limits the categories of workers eligible to serve as corrections officers in our adult jail facilities.”

“King County takes this potential oversight seriously and is actively investigating and taking remedial steps as necessary,” added the spokesperson.

It was also confirmed that four recruits had recently been booted from the training program for failing to meet the eligibility requirements.

In a memo to staff, Nance voiced his concerns about what it would mean should employees be found ineligible to continue working for the department: “The impacts will be felt by all, but especially by our colleagues whose position eligibility is under review. This is the time to support each other as we work to assist individuals and ensure continued operational progress.”

Worth noting is that it was reported by the Daily Caller News Foundation in 2024 that the same department was still using COVID protocols to reduce the number of inmates in its facilities to make up for its lack of manpower.
