U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley accused Republicans of trying to “whitewash American history” in a Columbus Day rant.
The far-left “Squad” member from Massachusetts spewed her performative griping in a social media post on Monday, the federally recognized Columbus Day, declaring, “Happy Indigenous People’s Day!”
“We are all on stolen land,” Pressley wrote. “And while Republicans try to whitewash American history, we acknowledge our country’s role in inflicting trauma on our Indigenous neighbors.”
Happy Indigenous People’s Day!
We are all on stolen land.
And while Republicans try to whitewash American history, we acknowledge our country’s role in inflicting trauma on our Indigenous neighbors.

“We’ll keep celebrating their contributions, centering Native voices in our policymaking, & building a more just, equitable future,” she added.
The Biden administration was the only one to formally recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which the left used to smear the day honoring Italian explorer Christopher Columbus. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump announced he was returning Columbus Day to the nation.
“I’m bringing Columbus Day back from the ashes,” he wrote in April. “The Democrats did everything possible to destroy Christopher Columbus, his reputation, and all of the Italians that love him so much.”
Last week, a proclamation was signed by the president to “reclaim” the explorer’s “extraordinary legacy of faith, courage, perseverance, and virtue from the left-wing arsonists who have sought to destroy his name and dishonor his memory.”

Meanwhile, Pressley’s post was met with deserved backlash on social media, where X users gave the Democrat a reality check on her hypocrisy.
Everyone is on “stolen land” on the entire face of the Earth. Literally every square inch. This talking point needs to die unless this Congress person, and every idiot that uses this, is going to track down the tribe members 8 generations ago and give them their property. https://t.co/b4vm66ETmV

You should consider giving back your stolen land then— starting with your $1.1M house on Martha’s Vineyard https://t.co/bQ8YlUEKue pic.twitter.com/z3nuafhzVF

I haven’t seen you give your personal property back in Massachusetts to the indigenous peoples that lived there before everybody came.
I also want you to hold those same indigenous people accountable for making war and stealing the land from other indigenous people that owned…

Get real. Your colonizing party placed millions of American Indians on reservations and promoted a cycle of government dependence that is still prevalent today. https://t.co/ba8F2NnhRb

So you will be giving your land to a Native American and then moving to somewhere in Africa, right?
Or is it just that you aren’t gonna actually do anything to make things better, you’re just gonna say you feel bad about it and keep all the benefits of colonialization?… https://t.co/5b6Bp0WyS0

Hi Ayanna,
I see you reside in the Hyde Park area of Boston, formally the home of the Massachusett tribe. Let’s find you a descendent to give your house away to. pic.twitter.com/JlapDUz4K1— The Redheaded libertarian (@TRHLofficial) October 13, 2025
