B. A. Ramsbottom was pastor of Bethel Strict Baptist Chapel, Luton, from 1967 to 2021, and the editor of the Gospel Standard (GS) magazine for much of that period. This book, written by one of his sons, is evidently a labour of love. It is a well-written and very interesting two-part account.
The first section relates Ramsbottom’s early life, conversion, and his teaching and preaching career until he was called to the Luton pastorate. Interwoven with details of his life are fascinating insights into British social history throughout this period.
