President Donald Trump’s administration has formed an Interagency Weaponization Working Group (IWWG) charged with “deweaponizing” and “depoliticizing” agencies from Biden-era weaponization against the American people, an official confirmed to the Daily Caller.
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Director Tulsi Gabbard organized the group — which has been meeting since April — to “share information, coordinate and execute,” officials told Fox News Digital on Monday. (RELATED: Trump Admin Finds New Destination For Deported Illegals)
“The American people made a clear choice when they elected President Trump — to stop the Biden administration’s prolific and dangerous weaponization of government agencies against the American people and the Constitution,” Gabbard said. “I stood up this working group to start the important work of interagency coordination under President Trump’s leadership to deliver accountability.”
DNI Press Secretary Olivia Coleman told the Caller that the group was organized to “undo the Biden Administration’s whole-of-government approach to weaponizing the government against the American people.”
The press secretary called this a direct response to Trump’s day-one executive order aimed at weaponization of the federal government. “It is the policy of the United States to identify and take appropriate action to correct past misconduct by the federal government related to the weaponization of law enforcement and the weaponization of the intelligence community,” the EO reads.

Government records reviewed by Reuters identified 39 people involved with the IWWG. A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that Key players include Justice Department (DOJ) attorney Ed Martin and ODNI official Paul McNamara, a source familiar said. McNamara oversees Gabbard’s Directors Initiatives Group (DIG), according two additional sources.
The IWWG holds biweekly meetings and consists of officials from the DOJ, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the White House and more, a senior ODNI official told the Caller.
Such interagency working groups often play a large role in crafting administration policies, disseminating information and deciding on joint actions, Reuters reported.
The source familiar claimed the group had discussed topics including former FBI Director James Comey, former chief medical adviser on COVID-19 Anthony Fauci, former top U.S. military officers who made COVID-19 vaccination a requirement for military personnel and Hunter Biden, the son of the former president. A senior ODNI official called out the “irony” of the “left-wing media” allegedly “attempting to negatively spin lawful oversight and accountability” from the IWWG as weaponization.
The official alleged that it was the Biden administration that “weaponized the entire U.S. federal government against the American people and Biden’s political opponents,” namely, “J6ers, Catholics, parents who attended schoolboard meetings, conservatives, and COVID dissenters.”

“There is no targeting of any individual person for retribution,” the official said. “IWWG is simply looking at available facts and evidence that may point to actions, reports, agencies, individuals, etc who illegally weaponized the government in order to carry out political attacks.”
“Oversight is not the problem — abuse of power is,” the senior official said.
“Once again, the fake news media is bending over backgrounds [sic] to turn a success for the Trump Administration and a win for the American people into a smear job. Oversight of the federal government is what the American people voted for, and President Trump and his team are delivering,” the DNI press secretary told the Caller. “After YEARS of lawfare by the Biden Administration, Americans deserve a government committed to deweaponizing, depoliticizing, and ensuring that power is never again turned against the people it’s meant to serve.”
Agency heads said the purpose of the group was to address actions by the Biden administration.
“Joe Biden’s Department of Justice targeted President Trump and anyone close to him, prosecuted pro-life advocates, treated parents at school board meetings as domestic terrorists and destroyed public trust in federal law enforcement,” Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox. “Under President Trump, we are working every day alongside our partners to end weaponization and restore one tier of justice for all.”
FBI Director Kash Patel echoed that sentiment, adding that, “We’re restoring equal justice under the law, one standard, one mission: protect the American people.”
