Wild Video Shows Woman Getting Blown Into Traffic By Strong Winds In New Zealand

New Zealand experienced powerful winds Tuesday morning that shoved a woman right into traffic.

Video of the scene shows the woman headed to an intersection crosswalk in Wellington, the capital of the island nation and known as the world’s windiest city.

A strong gust of wind then hits her from behind to blow her onto the street, with the woman taking a tumble forwards on concrete and rolling into traffic. (RELATED: Tropical Storm Melissa Develops In Caribbean, Expected To Become Hurricane In Coming Days)

There’s currently no information available regarding if the woman was injured or not.

The woman was blown over as New Zealand had an active orange-level Strong Wind Warning in the region, which is the second-highest alert level in the country, per FOX Weather. During the warning, another incident happened that saw a man injured by a branch that fell in a suburb of Wellington. He would later die from his injuries, per the New Zealand Police.

It was reported by the Wellington International Airport that over 12 hours of 40+ mph wind gusts took place Tuesday, with a peak gust clocking in at 62 mph, per FOX Weather.

Wellington, as well as other parts of New Zealand, have once again been issued a Strong Wind Warning for Thursday, according to the MetService.

The forecast also includes 85+ mph gales, per officials, that could cause damage to unsecured structures, power lines and trees.
