Ro Khanna Defends Populism Despite Representing Tech Oligarchs

Editor-in-Chief Dylan Housman asked Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna how he balances considering himself an economic populist with representing a large part of Silicon Valley, the center of Big tech and home to some of the wealthiest Americans. Khanna said he was proud of his district’s economic achievements and added that his goal is to work toward “economic success” for all Americans. The congressman argued that President Donald Trump’s policies — such as tariffs — are outdated and then outlined his own proposals.
