Narrative gymnastics found one House Democrat twisting their government shutdown to fit Reichstag rhetoric, as ongoing violence had yet to curb Hitler hyperbole.

Since attempted assassinations of President Donald Trump weren’t enough to coax the left into lowering the temperature, it’s hardly surprising that the actual assassination of Charlie Kirk and the 1000% increase in violence against immigration enforcement officials found them barely skipping a beat. Now, as the fourth week of the Democratic Party shutdown kept Washington, D.C. at a relative standstill, Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) accused House Speaker Mike Johnson of having “effectively dissolved” the lower chamber before turning to a “troubling” Nazi Germany comparison.
Joining MSNBC’s “The Beat” on Friday, the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee was asked about the administration’s use of U.S. military strikes against alleged drug vessels, seemingly arguing that the targeting of suspected terrorists was akin to “randomly killing people.”
“What’s the ripple effect of this, right? Like, once you start just randomly killing people from other countries and coming up with a crime to throw on them later, doesn’t that destabilize our relationship with the rest of South America? Doesn’t it make business more difficult?” asked Johnson. “What are some of the ripple effects of this current insane foreign policy by the administration?”
Turning to the absence of oversight from the out-of-session House, as the speaker himself had contended, it would be a “waste of our time” as Senate Democrats would not allow legislation to advance, Smith claimed, “It does all of those things, and it tells everyone in the world that this is perfectly okay. You decide you want to kill somebody, go ahead and do it. And you don’t have to justify it either. It makes us more vulnerable.”
After lamenting efforts to curb the flow of drugs into the United States likely put U.S. service members stationed in South America at risk, the congressman continued, “We are losing our constitutional republic. And meanwhile, the House of Representatives — Mike Johnson has effectively dissolved the United States House of Representatives. I spoke with several Republicans, including Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), today to talk about, okay, we need to have hearings on this, you know, the House Armed Services needs to exercise oversight. And there are many Republicans, including Mike Rogers, who agree with that.”
It was then that he made the latest in a long line of Democrat comparisons of Trump to Hitler while likening congressional Republicans to complicit Nazis, earning scorn on social media as he said, “But we’re not in session. So we can’t do it. So we’re not gonna do it. So, the president just gets to do what he wants. I mean, look, the whole Nazi Germany analogies are always troubling, but, you know, that was one of the steps is the parliament or the Reichstag or whatever it was, was sort of pushed out of existence and didn’t have any oversight.”

And MSNBC allows it to go on without stopping them. In fact, they give them a platform.
I am sure if a Republican went on MSNBC and spread such vile defamation about Democrats, MSNBC would cut them right off.— Let’s Use Common Sense (@IM4CommonSense1) October 25, 2025
Democrat’s hyperbole has cost us enough lives.

My guess is that the Dems have become so deranged with TDS that they probably actually believe this nonsense.
