Breaking the worry habit

A famous psychiatrist said, ‘Worry is the most subtle and destructive plague of all human diseases.’ It’s true that while anxiety is a natural human response to threat, its prevalence today is escalating due to factors like financial stress, information overload, and a deep sense of global instability.

Sadly, many Christians also suffer from this terrible affliction. But the Bible categorically instructs believers not to worry. In fact, A. W. Pink pointed out that Scripture teaches worry is as definitely forbidden as is theft. He notes that it is dishonouring to the Almighty and indicates a lack of trust in him.

The well-known passage in Philippians 4:6-7 supports his statement and could not be more specific: ‘Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.’
