A 79-year-old landlord in Los Angeles shot and killed a naked intruder Friday morning after the man allegedly attacked him, breaking both of his legs, police said, as reported by The Blaze.
The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. in the 4500 block of Tujunga Avenue in the Studio City neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities said the suspect, who has not yet been identified, was captured on surveillance video walking naked through the neighborhood.
The footage reportedly shows him approaching homes, grabbing objects from yards, and continuing down the street before entering an apartment building.
Inside the apartment, two women who lived there confronted the intruder and demanded he leave, police told KABC-TV. The commotion alerted the landlord, who rushed to assist the women.
According to LAPD Capt. Warner Castillo, the landlord tried to de-escalate the situation. “The 79-year-old man tells the suspect to leave, tells him I have a gun, and I will shoot you,” Castillo told KTTV-TV.
“The suspect grabs the 79-year-old man, lifts him, throws him on the ground, and that’s where the 79-year-old man suffered two broken legs.”

After being attacked, the landlord fired his gun, striking the intruder multiple times. Castillo said the initial shot did not stop the suspect.
“The suspect got shot one time, and the suspect still approached the 79-year-old [who] shot the suspect again, killing him,” Castillo said.
Police confirmed that the landlord acted in self-defense, noting that the intruder ignored multiple warnings to leave before the confrontation turned violent.
The victim, identified only as George, was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Neighbors told KTTV that the 79-year-old man is a Vietnam veteran.
No one else in the apartment was hurt during the incident. “I heard commotion, like a lady yelling,” one neighbor told KABC. “Then I looked over, and it was a naked guy. At first I thought it was just like, maybe it’s a house fire. Like, why is he out here naked?”
The suspect’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The LAPD said the investigation remains ongoing but emphasized that evidence and witness statements indicate the landlord fired in defense of himself and others.
