Chaotic Video Footage Seemingly Shows Police Forcibly Taking Island Boys Member Into Custody

Police detained Flyy Soulja of the Island Boys under the Baker Act.

A Tuesday video obtained by TMZ appeared to show the moment officers arrived at his Miami home while he was livestreaming. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told the outlet deputies responded to a call at 2 a.m. Saturday at the residence and initiated the Baker Act, which allows authorities to hold someone for an involuntary mental health evaluation if they believe the person may be a danger to themselves or others. Flyy Soulja repeatedly asked officers to show a warrant in the video as the encounter escalated. He was removed from the home for a mental health evaluation, though it’s unclear whether he remains in custody.

Officials told TMZ the duration of a Baker Act hold varies by case, and the Florida Department of Children and Families says someone can be held for up to 72 hours. His brother, Kodiyakredd, posted multiple videos claiming Flyy Soulja’s rights were violated and criticizing the conditions of his detention.

He insisted there was no cause for concern and referenced things “on the floor” that appeared to trouble law enforcement officers.

Flyy Soulja’s former girlfriend KaylaThayla, who is pregnant with their child, offered a different account. She posted a video from inside his home showing what looked like trash, food and belongings strewn across the floor.

She told followers she felt “sad” seeing the conditions and didn’t realize things were “this bad.” She said she removed her two pets from the home and felt guilty for leaving them there.
