Starmer went on to say he would “deal” with anyone responsible:
“I’ve been assured it didn’t come from Downing Street, but I’d be equally clear that whether it’s this case or any other, I intend to deal with it. I will absolutely deal with anybody responsible for briefing against ministers, cabinet ministers or other ministers.”
Not quite giving in to Streeting and Miliband’s call for heads to roll. Meanwhile the ‘investigation’ into the briefings seems to have already wrapped up. Shambolic comms from Downing Street yet again…
UPDATE: U-turn from Rachel Reeves on the ‘investigation’. She says: “I think is going to be a leak inquiry, but at the moment there is no evidence of where that briefing is coming from.” Back on…
