In a surprising turn of events, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy and son of Caroline Kennedy appears to have come out against the body positivity movement that has dominated retail stores and modeling agencies for the last several years.
When Jack Schlossberg announced his Democratic bid for New York’s 12th Congressional District, as a youthful challenger to take on the open seat of retiring New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, no one expected him to take on one of the left’s biggest cultural icons. However, his website clearly favors skinny, healthier supporters over his more rotund backers. On Schlossberg’s campaign website’s merchandise section, he is selling t-shirts at a higher price, depending on the size. Pricing for XS to Large starts at $32, it increases to $34 for XL, and again to $35 for XXL to 3XL.

This makes complete logical sense, considering that the larger the shirt, the more material it requires to produce, and thus the higher the cost. However, the left is hardly known for using logic or reality-based decisions, and the idea that one of its brightest stars would force heavier supporters to pay more based on their size goes against everything the body positivity movement has fought for.
Nowhere on Schlossberg’s campaign website does it state any allegiance to the body positivity movement. In fact, after a thorough investigation, it appears that there are no pictures of anyone with a BMI over 10. Maybe his choice to scale pricing is his way of outing himself as anti-fat. Either way, despite the blowback he might get from this from his heftier supporters, his using logical pricing is a good sign that the left might finally be doing away with their insane insistence that we accept that being overweight is somehow healthy. The movement was extremely harmful.
