I’m all for violence in hockey, but this is just too much.
The Oshawa Generals took on the Brampton Steelheads in a Friday night contest in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of Canada’s three major junior hockey leagues.
With the Steelheads holding a comfortable 3-0 advantage late in the third period, the game appeared headed for a quiet finish. (RELATED: State Trooper Reprimanded After Shoving South Carolina Football Players During Game Against Texas A&M)
But then chaos erupted when Brampton defenseman Luke Dragusica lost his composure.
After taking a clean, yet hard, hit from Oshawa forward Brady Blaseg, Dragusica retaliated by slashing Blaseg across the side of the head with his stick. Multiple players from the Generals immediately swarmed Dragusica, seeking payback, and they got their hands on him.
The OHL announced Saturday that Dragusica has been suspended indefinitely, pending a hearing.

I’m actually curious to see if Luke Dragusica ends up getting any criminal charges from this. I mean, damn, the physical assault is on a whole other level, and the blood splattered everywhere doesn’t help his cause either.
This is why I’m glad my daughters play golf and want to have meteorological careers (God, I’m so proud of those girls). Yeah, the boys get rowdy (and even then, not really), but you’ll never see this kind of nonsense in women’s golf, and the weather is … well … the weather.
People act like lunatics today, even our athletes. Wild.
