Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene fired back at President Donald Trump on Tuesday after he called her a “traitor.”
Trump told reporters that Greene is a “traitor” after she openly criticized his foreign policy moves and refused to take her name off of a discharge petition calling for the release of the files connected to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In retaliation, Greene called herself a “patriot” for standing with the victims of Epstein’s sex trafficking operation and for supporting America First policies during a press conference featuring Epstein’s victims at the Capitol.
“I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for five, no actually six years for. And I gave him my loyalty for free … I’ve never owed him anything, but I fought for him for the policies and for America First. And he called me a traitor for standing with these women and refusing to take my name off the discharge petition,” Greene said. “Let me tell you what a traitor is. A traitor is an American that serves foreign countries and themselves. A patriot is an American that serves the United States of America and Americans like the women standing behind me.”

Greene blasted Trump’s “shocking” handling of the Epstein files during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday. She stated that Trump turned on her because of the files.
“Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files. And that is shocking. I stand with these women, I stand with rape victims. I stand with children who are in terrible sex abuse situations, and I stand with survivors of trafficking and those that are trapped in sex trafficking,” Greene said. “And I will not apologize for that.”
Trump unveiled a new nickname for Greene in a Saturday post to Truth Social, calling her “Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown.” He accused her of betraying the Republican Party by becoming a Republican In Name Only (RINO).
Greene said on Saturday that she has been contacted about threats to her safety due to the rhetoric “being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”
