Meghan Hays — the former Biden White House aide who donned the Easter Bunny suit that steered former President Joe Biden away from reporters in 2022 — was blasted online Sunday after she posted that “Donald Trump is aging rapidly” on X.
Hays’ shot at Trump triggered a rush of reminders about her role in the viral Easter Egg Roll moment, with critics resurfacing video of the mascot cutting off Biden and guiding him away from press questions. Newsweek later identified the bunny as Hays, then a special assistant to the president and White House director of message planning. “It’s an undeniable fact. Donald Trump is aging rapidly. It should concern us all,” Hays wrote.

Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller highlighted Hays’ past role in the costume: “The person in the bunny costume was Meghan Hays. This wasn’t just some random intern trying to distract Joe Biden. She was literally a special advisor to the president and the person in charge of messaging planning to the media.”

At the time of the 2022 incident, reporters also pegged Hays as the bunny on site. New York Post White House correspondent Steven Nelson noted, “The Easter Bunny who censored Biden’s attempt to answer a reporter’s question today seems to be Meghan Hays,” pointing to her then–communications role.

Hays had previously revealed she played the Easter Bunny at a 2021 White House briefing, underscoring her involvement with the bit even before the 2022 scene went viral. Hays left the White House later in 2022, Breitbart reported at the time.
