Hello! I’m Rebecca Tortelli, and I grew up in a small village nestled in the Italian mountains, where animals outnumbered people. I was blessed to be born into a Christian family, but, like many, I didn’t fully appreciate that blessing at first.
My family stood out as the only Protestant household in a predominantly Roman Catholic community. Our two-hour journey to church each Sunday was a testament to my family’s faith.
Growing up, our home was deeply centred around God. The Bible was the first book I learned to read. However, as I entered my teenage years, I began to wrestle with my identity and my beliefs.
I questioned God’s existence and longed for him to reveal himself to me. His being my parents’ God wasn’t enough anymore; I needed to know him for myself.
