Cops Arrest Suspect In Bloody University Shooting, Officials Say

Police arrested a suspect Tuesday after a deadly shooting erupted on Kentucky State University’s campus, leaving one person dead.

The Frankfort Police Department said officers responded to reports of an active aggressor on KSU’s campus around 3:35 p.m. Police discovered multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds, leaving one person dead and several others injured, WKYT reported. University officials told WKYT that the shooting occurred in the area of the school’s south campus.

Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said state officials are monitoring the situation and that law enforcement has apprehended a suspect, but the university remains on lockdown as investigators secure the area and continue their search. Officials have not released the suspect’s identity or a possible motive.
