Authorities announced Tuesday that a suspect wanted in connection with the Nov. 16 shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was reportedly arrested and charged with attempted murder.
The suspect, 20-year-old Fredrick Green, was apprehended Monday in Buffalo, New York, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
Sources said Green also faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon stemming from the shooting of Boyd in addition to attempted murder. (RELATED: Fans Believe Raiders-Broncos Game Was Rigged To Cover Spread After Funky Ending)
Made up of federal, state and local authorities, the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force said in an official statement that they partnered with police detectives in New York “to locate and arrest the suspect, who fled the scene following the shooting,” per ABC News.
The NYPD confirmed to ABC News that Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen Nov. 16 at approximately 2 a.m. outside the Sei Less restaurant, which is located in Manhattan on West 38th Street. He received several procedures at Bellevue Hospital to treat a bullet lodged in his lung.

Police sources said the shooting seemingly sparked up from a verbal altercation after another group began “chirping” about the clothing of Boyd and the three people he was with — two fellow Jets players and a friend.
On Nov. 19, three days following the incident, Boyd published a picture of himself on Instagram, announcing that he had begun breathing on his own, per ABC News.
The hospital released Boyd a few days following the incident, but he had to briefly make a return because of “health issues,” he later wrote on Instagram.
